IPA Wipe Down Question

After reading some of the posts regarding ipa wipe down, I'm still not clear if it's best to use 50/50, or straight ipa.

Re: IPA Wipe Down Question

Prep Sol is the better product to do wipe downs with...i find Alc/wate mix is to weak to really get all the residue..even straight seemed not to get it all..the prep sol works great...you can get it at wal mart under a different name..but the same results and product....5.89 a quart...

yes I used it....I spray a little on the paint and use a dampened MF to wipe it...after a few panels its damp enough were you do not need much more than a spray on the MF and wipe...

Now DuPont has 2 types...one that does not evaporate to fast like the Prep ALL and one that flashes fast....drys in seconds..I did not like the fast drying one...

the Prep all is good stuff...cleans wax stains also...need to rub a bit though

So if you buy 70% or 90% IPA, do you dilute to 50/50, or just mix them 50/50 (which isn't a 50% solution). ?

It's never going to be exactly perfect, I fill my sprayer about half with alc, then half with water. Even still, between complete fills, I usually put a bit more of either in the bottle. The dilution is still around how I like it, and if it gets too watery I add more alc.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, 91%.

Re: IPA Wipe Down Question

what does this replace? If I wash my car and dried it, I can start polishing. What is the point of this 50/50?
