LC pad problem... HELP!

Hello fellow autopians!!!

I just recently received my detailing package and I ordered some LC orange, white and blue pads. Both my white and blue pads were flat on its face. However, the orange pad is caved in. It's not flat on its face. Is this normal?

Here's the picture of what I'm talking about:

Thanks for your input!

Re: LC pads?

The Orange pad is a variable contact style. Some prefer one, to another. Personally, I prefer the flat surfaced pad. Ive always been of the belief more contact is better.

That's what I thought! Since the flat pad will make contact throughout, it will make paint correction better. As opposed to the concaved one.

Tustin,
I will take a picture tonight and post it.

Re: LC pads?

Here are the pictures of the pads. The first 2 pictures are the concaved LC orange pads. I tried to take the picture the best I could but it's hard to catch the concave feature. The 3rd picture is a Meg's W9006 finishing pad for reference.

Re: LC pads?

detailedimage.com

Is it a good or a bad thing D&D? Should I ask for a replacement?

I really don't think these pads would be effective. But I wanted to ask fellow autopians...

Re: LC pads?

Nah, I wouldn't worry about it too much at all. I have some concave pads and some flat ones, both work a-ok.

Thanks for your input. It's just weird that it works the same because the concaved ones mean less contact. But I guess with pressure, it evens out. Plus, the outer edge generates more heat so maybe that's the reason.

Thanks to everyone who helped!

Re: LC pads?

That happens to my LC CCS pads when they wear out, but I've never seen that o a new pad. Usually it happens on the orange pads most of all, but it's always the more dense, cutting pads that do that. The softer pads are more maleable and are less damaged by the pressure/vibration/higher heat.
