Edge 3k uneven rotation/wobble issue

Has anyone had this problem? I think the video shows what is going on better than words...

This caused some vibration issues with 6" foam, but even more so with the 6" wool. It is threaded correctly/tightly. Certainly this isn't normal?

After closer inspection, the adapter is not the source of the wobble but the rotary itself. I put my finger nail on the flat area marked in the pic below and slowly turned the Makita on the lowest RPM possible. I saw and felt the unevenness.

Has anyone had a problem like this before? I bought this new from Coastal Tool and sent them an email but am waiting for a response. According to Makita, my closest "Factory Service Center" is about a 45 min drive away...

Dang, I wonder if you have a bad bearing? I could hear the problem in the video better than I could see it, and it definitely doesn't sound right.

Now that you mention it, *my* Makita seemed to be out-of-kilter the last time I used it too

I gotta check into it...funny, as most people use 'em forever with no problems at all.

I've got a pretty good wobble on my Metabo with an edge adapter and wool pads. No problem with their foam counterparts though.

Mike at Coastal is going to get me a replacement.

When using the Makita with the Edge foam or wool I could see the whole machine vibrate just a bit, but I felt it more with Edge wool. I have *never* read any problems here concerning Makita rotaries so this kind of surprises me.

Maybe I was noticing the wobble more with the Edge adapter than my W66 backplate because the Edge adapter, and the pad being used, is further away from the wobbling piece.
