I was working on my car today,
( Which rotary for me? )
...and I couldn't help but think about how weird it is that the cord sticks to my arm when I polish. I know it's just an electromagnetic current, but is there a way to reduce this? Maybe I'm being bothered by it too much, but seriously, it's just creepy.

Seriously though, it's got a magnetic charge to it when the machine is switched on, no doubt about it. It sticks to my arm and sometimes my leg, but it's much more noticeable where the cord wraps under the bottom of my forearm just below the elbow to go over my shoulder.
It's a metabo BTW.

But yeah unless you're made of metal or you've got a current flowing through your body in the same direction as the current is flowing through the cord, I doubt the cord will actually be attracted to your body.

I definitely noticed it. I was barefoot too, if that makes a difference...? Weird, I should make a video, "magnetic metabo man."
Classic.

I sometimes use one of those c-ring thingies (the kind that snaps on your belt loop for keys) get a little bigger one and clip it on one of the loops in the back - then run your cord through it, keeps it close and off the car. But, I usually forget it's there and try to go in the house and get snatched back like a dog on a leash!
