Do a search. In the past few months, there must be about a half dozen threads asking the same question with many good responses by the veterans on here. But, to get you started, I will offer this.
I rotary will do the best job for you. A DA such as a PC,
UDM and Cyclo will do a good job but if you are showing a car, I would say a rotary is the tool you should consider for optimum results. It is good that you are showing caution with the rotary. To get over that fear, go to the junk yard a buy a hood or some other type of panel and practice on it over and over again. Even better, purposely burn the paint just so you get an idea of where the boundaries are. That is what I did a few months ago. Bought a hood for $35 and went to town on it. Last weekend I polished my car and such experience was invaluable.
Also, spend a few hours on here reading about polishing techniques. Incredible advice on here if you are willing to put in the time to read up about it. Good luck.
