Had I read more I would not have got it, My question is it correctable via UDM? I have Optimum products and LC 4 and 6.5 inch pads. I am willing to buy whatever necessary to work this paint. I would appreciate any and all input from those familiar with this.

A Flex would have been a better choice, but you can correct most defects with a UDM with the right polish. Get Menz SIP and 106ff that should correct any swrils and marring on your BMW. It will take longer, but it will get the job done. Remember least aggressive pad and polish first.

I bought my UDM some time ago? is the FLEX going to be that much better or more of a time saver?

The UDM will get the job done. The reason the paint sucks is how soft it is, not because it is hard to correct, although finishing down is a PITA. Since you are using Optimum, I would compound as needed, go with the Polish on a polishing pad, then Poli-Seal on another polishing pad. That should finish out micromarr free (although I greatly prefer Menzerna).

The pc chewed up the paint the one time I worked on a new jet black bmw.

Rotary was fine.

You can use the pc to apply waxes with.

I hate to say it but anything with a random orbit is going to be really hard to work with on JB BMW's. They're so soft that you're going to struggle to finish down without haze/half moon marks. Still, considering you have the UDM I woul dget some 106ff or PO8RD and get ready to work them with black LC pads; just remember to break them down fully. If t
