I bought this - now what?

Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices

on a whim ... I went to the local Harbor Freight to buy a rotary - for 30 bucks, what the hey?

Do I need a whole slew of new pads/backing plate/etc...?

I didn't pay attention and thought I could use all the PC pads I have at home?

crap if I screwed up

Re: I bought this - now what?

You can use the same pads but you'll need to purchase a rotary backing plate.

Re: I bought this - now what?

harbor freight also sells a smaller backing plate to use 6-6.5" pads. It is a no frills, gets the job done machine.

Re: I bought this - now what?

well - 1st test, I did the trunk of my car ...

used SSR 1.0 and the 7" white pad that came with unit ... the pad was HUGE, I prefer the 5.5" low profile for paint correction - easier for me to control

I ran the machine on speed 2 and very fast passes ... I had FEAR, I had FEAR, I had FEAR - its much faster, the light swirls were corrected, hopefully I get the 6" set from AG so I can use smaller pads.

for 30 bucks ... it was a great deal
