Preferred paint thickness gauge/s?

Speaking of paint thickness gauges, what is your preferred model, and where can one purchase them?

Paint Meter, Paint Gauge - HighLineMeter.com

That is where I got mine. It is a basic model, but it does the job accurately.

I went with: Coating Thickness Gages

Haven't really used it enough to give you any feedback.

I got the 3550 because I find the probe-on-a-cable much more convenient, but others feel the exact opposite, so give some thought as to which is right for *you*.

Accumulator, do you have to use a different probe for ferrous and non-ferrous with that? Or do you just go from one panel to the next...does it auto adjust or do you have to tell it?

It automatically figures it out. There's only one probe.
