Coastaltool has a good deal on a Makita 9227c

Phil @ DD has a 3403 Flex for 206 shipped.

Allprotools has Metabo's for 240+ ship

dang i just bought my flex from autogeek for 317 shipped!! what a rip

Keep in mind the 3401 (D.A) and the 3403 (Rotary) are different animals. The price listed above is for the Rotary.

I see the hitatchi goes to 3400 rpm is that going to be more benaficial than the makita at 3000rpm basically the same price.

With rotary you shouldn't be exceeding 1800 RPM anyway. (Others may go higher or prefer lower).. but I don't think anyone gets near 2K+ regularly.

Of course correct me if I am wrong.

Which makes one wonder, why not make a 'detailer friendly' rotary? One where the dial can't put you up past 2200 or something? Just in case of those accidental bumps.

I am going to order a Makita at coastal and googled promotional code and found "BMW' as maybe a 10% bimmerfest code. give it a try. I will try to use it when i order it tonight.

my only suggestion is if you order from coastal tool, is to have them open the box and securely wrap the buffer in some bubble wrap (you'll have to ask). otherwise they'll send it with no packaging peanuts, etc, inside and it can get banged up in/around the box while shipping...
