M105 and Flex DA

Afternoon, I had a couple of quick questions for you guys. I did a search and couldnt find what i was looking for, hopefully others have had experience in this.

I am in need of a new compound and have heard rave reviews of Meg's 105 via rotary..the cars i see for the most part are in horrendous shape, almost always daily drivers...my question is how different is M105 for the flex? I have heard a little bit of people having some luck and i wanted to know the specifics of how they are achieving this, for example...

1. What Lake Country pads would best suit 105

2. Since the product cuts so fast, and in essence isnt meant to be broken down, how long should i work it with the flex?

3. Any problems such as burn throughs or anything else associated with the combo?

Any help guys would be greatly appreciated

You read my mind; I was going to post pretty much the same question. I vaguely recall reading one review of M105 with the Flex, but now I can't find it.

Please, if you've used M105 with the Flex, chime in!

Been waiting to see if anyone has tried it yet too before buying some M105.
I have had good results with Hi-temp Extreme cut and the purple foamed wool pads using my Maktia BO6040 (in forced rotation mode - same as the Flex) but I do not like the kaolin clay fillers in it. Thinking the M105 might be a good choice.

I think - don't quote me, but I think I read on Mobileworks Forum that 105 works well with the Flex. Gotta go to the Mall - coming dear... I'll look again when I get home. Jeeez!

I don't believe I have any pictures (will check in the morning) but when I got my 105 and Flex in I did a test on my sister's car and my brothers truck. Both are in horrendous condition and 105 seemed to do a real nice job via Purple Wool.

Either way - I will bookmark this thread and will pull the car in the garage tomorrow and take some before/after shots as well as a few little video clips.

I tried this combo with a 5.5" orange pad from LC and worked great and fast.

Since we didn't have any answers at the time I decided to do this myself today.

My brother bought a used black 03 G35. The car had been repainted so it did not have the typical soft Infinti clear. I used M105 with a yellow Excel Erasure pad and it did a good job removing defects. It was a lot different to use than anything that I experienced (which I expected from the research here) and it gummed up and dusted a ton. I did clean the pad with a brush after every panel. I did also mix the 105 with some OPT Compound to get some extra working time with it since I could only get about one fast pass with 105 alone. This combo worked well too but the dusting continued since the pad was already loaded with 105. Either way I used it it left some marring that was removed with SIP on an orange 5.5" CCS pad. This left the finish LSP ready. I think if I would have had the infamous LC purple wool pad it would have been better. I did also find that I used a good deal of product. I don't know if this is typical or not but maybe this was the reason it gummed up so much.

All in all I really liked using the product. All of the main defects that we were concerned about came out without a problem. It looks like the car visited a swirl-O-matic at least once a week for its lifetime. The swirls were horrible and the dealership made it worse and left holograms

but they were removed easily. There are still some RIDS but the finish is 95% better and can be driven in the sun with pride now.

I will post some pictures when I get them from my brother.

Not very much time... I think around 1 min. But using it via rotary is much faster, around 20 seconds !!

Here are two pictures of the black G35 I took with my camera. My process was mentioned above.

This is a before shot. Besides the obvious swirling there were bad holograms from a botched rotary job.

This was the outcome. Please forgive the spots as that was polish residue. We had to wash the car when complete before LSP application due to the dust. BUT it was well worth it!

My brother still has not sent me the pictures that he has. He took most of them so I will post a C&B when I get them to show more.
