Backing Plate Advice Needed...

I just got three of the blue 3M waffle foam pads. They are 8 inchers. The biggest backing plate I have is still too small for them. I'm wondering if the new Meg's backing plate, I think it's the w66, is big enough to use with the 8" 3M pads? Sheesh, I thought I had just about every size backing plate that's made...

I've heard that M105, the new Meg's backing plate, and purple foamed wool is a great combination. It would be nice to be able to use the same backing plate for the purple foamed wool as the 8" 3M pads.

I briefly tried to use the new 3M pads with the smaller backing plate. It was a bit awkward, to say the least, but I was really impressed with the pads. They have a great feel to them. And wow, are they soft. I used the new pad with Ultrafina. I now understand what everyone has been raving about. Great combination.

The 3m foam feels much softter than even the red LC. I just wish we could get the 3m in a smaller size here in the states.

Diesel, were you able to get the 3M Blue waffle pads in 6"? I had heard that they were only available in 8" in the U.S.

I got them from Search

Edit: Hmm.. I'm not finding any 3M pads at detailersdomain...
