Mercedes & the flex

Got my new toy last week and detailed a maroon Trailblazer with no problems...work great. Was using orange pad & SIP, white & 87MC, DWG, topped with moose wax...
really came out nice.

So, I decided to test the flex on my wife's car (black mercedes E500). I have read that they have a hard clear coat.....and after a few passes....they sure do.

I wasn't able to get all the scratches that I wanted out, so I need a bit more aggressive option....I was thinking of getting a few yellow pads w/SIP....is this going to help? Or...will I have to live with those scratches that won't come out....is there other options other than using a rotary.

Thanks,

Devon

Re: Mercedes & the flex

I have an '04 Audi Allroad with pretty hard paint as well. I had good luck with my Flex using orange pad and Menz PowerGloss, followed by white pad and 106FA. There were still some lurkers there, but the PowerGloss worked pretty well. I have soem M105 as well that I just picked up and will be giving it a whirl in next few weeks as well. To me, the PowerGloss works very similar to Menz IP in terms of workability and the Flex. Just has that little extra bite to it. If you're careful enough you can get PG to finish down LSP as well.
