Most aggressive pad for PC?

In general what is the most aggressive pad you would want to use via PC? In the video, "Using the PC for Showcar Results" Mike Phillips implies that a polishing pad is as far as you should go, cutting pads being reserved for rotary use. IIRC he said a cutting pad and PC would produce an unacceptable amount of hazing.

What do y'all think?

i use LC orange and white (both cutting) hardly any haze, you have to use it correctly, i used a white pad and WG SR on a heavily swirled BMW, took maybe 20% out and i had to step towards orange, polishing pads are usually not enough

yellow if its a tough clear and swirled badly

The Red Meguiars Pad is a no no when polishing for the average user.

Now I've seen one video with someone using it and they'd been in the business for years and it came out flawless.

But for most people the red W7006 pad is the most aggressive.

would it be ok to use SIP with orange pad then 106ff w/ a white pad on soft honda clear?

I have a 08 Honda Accord, I've had to buff out cat scratches on it twice. I found that LC low profile 5.5" pads - get orange and white and Menzerna IP (91) and FFII(87) work great. Try the white with FFII first, then go to orange and IP if you must.

I would use the white with SIP first, if it doen't work than move up to the orange. White for 106 should do it, 106 with black for jeweling.

IMO/IME the size of the pad makes a huge difference too. A 4" yellow cutting pad would get my vote for most aggressive by PC, more so than the Meg's 6" cutting pad; you can really *kill* clear with the PC using 4" pads even with sensible products (gee, ask how I know

).

Plenty of people have used the Meg's 7006 burgundy/red cutting pad via PC; they've even used it with Mike Phillips there advising (e.g., at an Autopia g-t-g a few years back). But one of those people cut through the clear on an older Benz with it too and that's a pretty serious mistep to say the least. IMO Meguiar's doesn't want people using it via PC primarily out of liability concerns; note that they generally advocate mighty mild methods when dealing with people they consider less-than-expert. After an incident like the one I mentioned, Meguiar's might've decided to nix the whold cutting pad/PC idea (at least as far as general public recommendations go).
