DA polisher kit selection

Thanks for taking the time, I am sure this has been ask a lot. (I have read through a bunch of pages here researching)

What i am looking for is recommendations on what kit would be the best to get for a UDM polisher. I will be getting this in a few months, (gift) but I would like to learn as much as I can as soon as I can to get exactly what I want.

Basically what I am looking for is the most complete kit I can get in one shot sans actual polish. I have read a lot about different backing plates, and connectors like the edge system. Is the edge system good enough to swing my choice from the UDM to the PC?

To the PC kit:

My usage goals are going to be personal, 1-3 cars (black 350z, black Chevy 1500, red jeep Cherokee). With just swirl removal/diminishing in mind.

Thanks for your time.

Re: DA polisher kit selection

Well when looking at kits you have to start with the polisher first, pad choice second. Basically the Edge pads do not make the PC a better machine than the UDM. Or vice versa. If I were in your shoes I would get UDM over the PC, no matter what kit you choose. If you could swing it, the Flex would be a great jump in correction ability.

I dont think one kit has the selection of pads I would want. So I would pick whatever type of pad attachment system I would prefer. Basically the Edge system or hook and loop style. Its all in personal preference IMO.

FWIW I would get 4-5.5 inch pads for correction, 6 inch pads for final polishing and wax/sealant application.

Re: DA polisher kit selection

UDM, and 5.5 pads. Also check the UDM site for smaller kits. Some of those bigger sites tend to sell larger packages at nice discounts. Problem is you dont need all of those items.
Basically, get the UDM, comes with BP, and one pad. Get yourself a couple Orange pads, and a finishing pad for sealants, two polishes and a sealant. This would be perfect for personal use.
