3.5 inch pads question

I am thinking about ordering some 3.5 inch pads which have a beveled edge for polishing my headlights. Is it a bad idea to use these with a 3.5 inch backing plate?

Thanks

Re: 3.5 inch pads question

i don't think the 3.5" backing plate would fit the 3.5" pads (probably be a little too big). i believe you would have to use a 2¾ inch backing plate when you use those pads. i use 4" pads with my 3.5" backing plate which work fine. i use these pads... 4^^ Erasure Turbo Pads

I have 4 inch pads, but after using them, I think 3.5 inch would work a bit better. Do you know where I could get the 2-3/4 inch bp?

down towards the bottom of the page... Spot Buffing 4 inch pads - 30% thicker than the Low Profile Spot Buffs!
