PC 7424 question

I just got my PC and putting on my 5" AG backing plate. Now I see there is a little washer/spacer that came with the PC. Am i suppose to put that on with the autogeek BP or is that for the thing that came with the PC? I put it on without it and it looked fine.

Do use the washer it will keep the BP from rubbing on the counter weight.

I just spined it without it with my finger and it did not rub the counterweight. I guess i will just put it on anyways to leave more of a gap.

Re: PC 7424 question

Use the washer, it goes between the PC and the BP. I have always been told its supposed to help reduce the heat transfer from the PC to the backing plate. I'm not sure if that's the case or not, but I use it anyway!!

Re: PC 7424 question

I remember a thread from back in the summer from someone who had just received a PC and was using it without the washer. He was experiencing extreme vibration and said that it put off a burning or high heat odor. Sorry I couldn't find a link to the original thread.

Re: PC 7424 question

Without that washer, the wrench (that comes with the PC) will become wedged in between the PC and the backing plate as the backing plate is being tightened.

Re: PC 7424 question

well there is a washer that came on the autogeek 5" BP already, but that is not as thick as the one with the PC.
