Hello, this my first time I'm gonna detail my car and before I do that I want to be ready
I got the GG 6" kit (w/ 10 pads) I'm looking to get for a 3" or 3.5" backing plate or what do you guys advice regarding On this.. I learned that it's mush easy to clean the small area w/ a smaller BP and pads.. Thanks in advance

3" for both

In the case of the 3" plates/pads, 3 on 3 works just fine because the pads are thick. No danger of touching the paint with the edge of the plate. Also better control.

here is a great pad, the 3" is perfect for A pillars - 4" are too big

Griot's polishers are great! I have the 3 inch polisher from them (latest one) it's great and is worth every penny! The lifetime warranty is great too! I've been wondering about getting the 6" polisher as well, but can't make my decision! Be sure to let us know how it is!

I'm also a big fan of the Griot's polishers. Haven't killed my 6" yet, despite some, uhm...incidents

I was, uhm....underwhelmed...by their 3" electric (killed my first one in a few minutes, but that it was the previous generation, so maybe the newer ones are better.

But their 3" pneumatic is simply *wonderful*. I'd always knee-jerked against pneumatics (due to teen-years experience with pneumatic DAs in a bodyshop), but Barry kept insisting that I revisit the idea so my wife bought me the Griot's for a b-day gift. Besides use on pillars/etc., it's become my go-to polisher for RIDS and spot-corrections. With an aggressive pad and either M105 or Uno, it's simply a miraculous defect-killer...as in, "problem solved!" in a matter of seconds.
