Re: Helping picking out a system

You might want to hit up ebay because your definatly not going to get anything worth a crap for only $200. Hell the wiring alone will cost you most of that.

You dont know better till you hear it. I had some Rockfords that I thought sounded great, till I heard an Elemental. Most mainstream companies are mostly for mass-market stuff, not audiophiles.

Re: Helping picking out a system

I had MTX subs and amp before it was stolen and it was good compared to what other "JUNK" I heard. And like I said before. I have the wires already. And I got my 2" mtx and amp in a enclosed box for $100. So the deals are out there, just gotta look.

JL Audio 10 or 12 W0 and a single channel amp would run right at $200 or so... I used to have three 10W0s running at something between 400-600 watts and they sounded very loud. Even 1 would have been plenty enough!

Re: Helping picking out a system

JL Audio in my opinion is the best bang for the buck. I have 10" w3v3, probably one of the best sounding sub for under $250. I have that and a 500/1 TMA amp to power it. I think i paid around $400 for that combo, which i think is very cheap for the sound. There is a big difference in sound and quality when you know what your listening for. In my opinion it would be worth the extra money.

Re: Helping picking out a system

I got a 12" MTX 7500 in a Sledge-Hammer box with a 400watt Amp for around $500-550.

I bought a refurbished MTX amp from Mitek factory outlet. Its been going strong for close to 2 years now.

I bought the sub+box locally for $350 I think.
