Bel Vector 995 radar detector

I've searched the "radar detector" threads and found minimal (but important) info on some of the new radar detectors out there. I would specifically like some info on the Bel Vector 995 vs 895. Anyone have one? Adequate or no? False alarms?

Thanks,
JJ

Here is a little info, if you haven't already seen it. I used to have a BEL (now have Escort) and I believe BEL makes a quality product.

Craig Petersen (the reviewer for the linked article) has a huge chip on his shoulder re: the V1 (probably because he's a paid shill, and V1 won't give him any $$$ to pimp their product). Take any review on radartest.com with an appropriately-sized grain of salt.

Google for "Craig Petersen" and "Valentine" for more info.

There are a lot of people paid (in one way or another) to "pimp" Zaino, but that doesn't make it any less quality of a product.

You might be right about that Petersen guy, don't know anything about him...but I do know that BEL and Escort are fine products, and I'd recommend them above nearly everything else on the market...V1 withstanding (haven't tried that one).

I never said anything about the relative quality of BEL or Escort; that wasn't the point. People visit radartest.com and think they're getting unbaised reviews. They're not.

You can also google Radar Detector Reviews. There are multiple sites that perform testing/evaluations. I bought a used Bel Express 935. In the 2 months I have had it, it has nailed all three radar bands + laser. There are some falses, but I do not think you can avoid that with any model. The nice thing about my Bel is that is shows band and strength. The falses are usually x-band with low signal strength. Go with the 995 if you can find a good deal.

I actually bought the 995 and it has been a really great detector. It has picked up all the radars thus far w/o a substantial amount of falses. I really like it! THanks for the comments everyone.

Not really in the thread, but let's just say we have a couple cars and trucks and each one has a V1 . One of them is even the old model from back when they came out like in the mid 90's or whatever lol.
