Change lighting on Speedometer and all other interiot lights...

Hey guys. I am new at the who customizing of cars so bear with me. I have a 1999 VW Jetta (the old model) and I want to change the speedometer lights and all other interior lights from green to red. Does anyone know how I could do this and what I need to do it? If not, does anyone know of where I could have it done?

Thanks a lot,
Miles

P.S. Here are some pictures of the inside of my car.

You can get replacement bulbs in about any color you want once you know the type of bulb you want to replace. If you can get the bulb types and list them I can help you locate other colors.

You can also get little rubber covers for white bulbs, if you can't find the exact color you'd like. I changed mine from greenish white to orange.

Where would I be able to find out what kind of bulb I would need? Manual maybe? I'm not sure.

most new cars have white bulbs and colored letters.

I personally went to Speedhut.com and custom made my guages. Everyone has the crappy indiglo in blue and green......and that fad is done.

I made mine with their guage maker program. I did a black background with red #'s and flames. they look really nice.

As far as the rest of your lights, some cars, you have to dremel the colored backing off and get some of the colored led's and put in there. you gotta be really careful on this though, because the dremel will definately burn and melt the plastic.

Go to http://www.superbrightleds.com and order some of the LED's that are in bulb bases. I changed the color of my gauges from green to amber using their 194 type leds.

I'd suggest you go to www.vwvortex.com and do a search in their Mk3 forums. There's probably a guide to changing the colour of your lights. That site has a wealth of knowledge but do a search first - if not they'll come down hard on you.
