Cracking pleather on seats...

THe Leather seats on my Infiniti isn't 100% leather in all areas. The part where you sit on is leather but the side is pleather. The side of the driver left bolster (butt part) is starting to crack a bit at the seams. Two 1/4 inch cracks have formed and it's slowly growing. I keep the seats conditioned but that doesn't seem to help the pleather. Is there a way to prevent the crack from growing at a fast past?

Call a reputable vinyl/leather repair co. (that's a lot of what I do, but I'm 3000 mi. from you) You could try jb weld or epoxy yourself for a quick fix, but no guarantee that will hold for too long and it's kinda cheesy for a high dollar auto. If you do use that, be extra careful not to glob on too much.

Re: Cracking pleather on seats...

You could try some flexible adhesive like VLP. I use to get it at Home Depot, but I think you can get it at Harbor Freight now.

hmm "another QX4" with cracking leather haha

my 1999 QX4 just showed its first crack in the leather

I might try that flexible adhesive that quality leather mentioned. I dont care about the looks - i just want to stop the tear before it engulfs the whole side of the seat.
