How Do They Get Out of the Car???
There is a big one day sale at Macy's today. Well, actually the sale started yesterday. I had to go back for an exchange this morning. Drove up to the second level and tried to park away from everyone as usual. Lot looked pretty clear.
Came back out to find me surrounded and the person next to me REAL close.
I spent a good 5 minutes in there inspecting for damage. Luckily none found.
But how do these people get out of their cars when they park so close?? Boggles the mind!
Do you get as annoyed when this happens. I get Super Annoyed!

Re: How Do They Get Out of the Car???
First, yes I get annoyed big time when I see cars closely parked next to mine...just horrible parking jobs in general boggle my mind.
Second - The Macy sale is amazing! I went E-shopping on their website last night and picked up a couple good deals! (If anyone is looking for a nice wool coat - take a look at the Alfani or Kenneth Cole ones!) I'm trying not to visit their website again because I know I will get suckered in for more

Dont get me started on that sale. I have purposely slept in late the last two days and stayed off line to avoid it. I am such a sucker for Macys.

Re: How Do They Get Out of the Car???
This irritates me to no end as well.
It could be possible that they had bench seats and were able to exit from the opposite side.
I have bench seats myself and there have been times when I had to enter from the passenger side due to a close parker.

Re: How Do They Get Out of the Car???
My wife had the "fun" experience of being several months pregnant and coming out to her car to find it so wedged in on both sides there's no way she could get in. She wound up having to sit with two restless, unhappy toddlers for over half and hour until a lady finally showed up and left in the car on the driver's side. The lady didn't say a word and carefully avoided my wife's crusty glare.

I tend to park as far away from the parking scum that think nothing of wedging you into a spot and them let their doors fly open.
These come in handy every now and then.
Graphic removed. I agree with the sentiment, but we try to keep the language G-rated in the forums. -- Tort

Re: How Do They Get Out of the Car???
Nothing drives me more batty than a close parker. It's just SO unnecessary and SO inconsiderate.
When I had my S2000 there were many times when I had to reach in, put the top down, and climb over the center tunnel from the passenger side to get in.
My brother used to live in a condo complex where there was this guy he used to call "can opener Kelly." I said "why do you call him that?" He answered "because he parks so f'in close you need a can opener to get in your car!"

Let's just say that despite my heft, I have been known to squeeze out of some tight spaces. However, that does not mean I am any less annoyed.

I hear ya, but I dont really park way out any more. Now that I've had my car broken into, I try to park between two cars, or on the curb spot and get right on the curb. It irritates me to do that, but I'd rather have a dent than a broken door glass. What a choice to make huh?

Re: How Do They Get Out of the Car???
Worst experience I had was when an idiot in a Suburban parked (angle street parking) on our passenger side but came in from the opposite direction. Yup, she crossed the solid yellow center line and cut it in beside us without bothering to straighten out so was almost at 90 degrees to the curb. We had a rental mini van and my wife didn't want to give directions, so with both side mirrors folded in (yeah it was that close) I gave directions and we spent probably 10 minutes of inch by inch dry steering to finally get out.
