time to retire

As the title says, finally time to call it quits with the current ties on my suv

. have narrowed my choice to the current OEM tires and the Michelin Cross Terrain SUV. is there anybody out there that can give me their honest review of this tire? was looking for road noise, wet traction , how it handles in the snow and the mileage gotten out of them. saw some reviews on tire rack but do not trust people who give something a negative review as they may have not keep them inflated to the correct pressure or drive it like they stole it

I can't comment on the Cross Terain, but I can tell you I am very happy with the Michelin LTX M/S on my F150 S'crew. Excellent ride and handling, good wet and dry traction too.

x2. I am on my second set on my Jeep. The first set lasted 50K miles.

Thanks for the input so far everybody. I currently have a set of Bf Goodrich with 50,000 but they do not accept or retain a tire dressing very well for me. also want to see if the Michelin's are worth the extra cash.

Yes, I am not looking for any off roading with my SUV but need to know that tires have good traction in the snow. we do get a fair amount of snow but the weight of the Trailblazer makes it pretty good as we do not even need the 4wd all that much. guess I am trying to figure out if the Michelin tires are worth the extra cost up front. if they last a lot longer than the 50,000 I have on the rugged trails, I may have to really check them out. thanks for your input.

Only on a detailing forum like this would you see someone include the ability of a tire to hold a dressing as a purchase factor....I love it.

Well to be honest the current tires have been wearing me out trying to keep them looking new. hey if I am going new anyway, why not consider something that will be easier to keep looking good LOL !

Interco makes some awesome tires as well, my next set might just be coming from them. Also **** Chepak or some Pro-Comps.

When shopping for tires, I found that Tire Rack had the most extensive tests and reviews, from them and from their customers. Tests and reviews are almost non-existent anywhere else. Because they get so many customer reviews, you can get a good idea of how some tires will perform.

I'm not familiar with SUV tires nor the 2 tires you're comparing, but I find that Michelin tires are often overpriced. You're paying mostly for their name brand. Their tires are decent, but you can find comparable, if not better tires, from another major manufacturer that costs significantly less.

The only reason why I would ever buy Michelin tires again is because Costco often runs a $50-60 off for set of 4 on Michelin tires. Once you factor in the cost to mount and install them, Costco's prices are pretty awesome. My main problem with Costco though is their selection (IIRC, they're Michelin exclusive now?), and more importantly, if you have plus-sized aftermarket wheels, most Costco tire centers will not service you.

I had Michelin Cross Terrain SUV tires on my 2004 Suburban. The ride was good and they had a lot less road noise than the factory equipped tires.
