Unhappy I should never have got out of bed. Bad day for detailing.

I have my regular client 5:30am Saturday morning I swap cars with him at his house while he goes to the gym. Works out great because I drop his car off at the gym and pickup mine which is on the way to my 7am. Well this weekend my fiancée’s friends flew in the for weekend. The taxi dropped us off at home around 3am.. bad choice right but at least I remembered to check the alarm was still set. Which it was, the only problem was in checking it I switched it off. I woke up at 6:30am when my dog jumped on the bed.

Missed my first job… great. I called, he was fine with it and I’m making it up to him tomorrow morning. Off I got to my 7am. Now he has no garage and I was scheduled top the optimum I did two weeks ago. Just as I finish the wash the wind goes for 5mph to 50MPH it goes black as night and stats to poor!! I run for my canopy which is about to take off, I nearly merry poppins right over Niagara Falls. So now I’m soaked and so is most of my things. With all the dust kicked up I have to wash the car again. What was supposed to be a 1 hour job turned into a 3hr affair as I dried off. So I’m happy with my work the SL looks amazing the sun is out I go for my camera turn it on and it flashes… No Card I can’t even take a picture of my work.

10:30 I’m dry and at my third job for the day. My future father in laws friends’ truck, it was supposed to be a 6 month old red Sierra. No big deal right… but he just got back from his cabin it was covered in thick mud, the inside bad but not that bad. I was supposed to just wash it and do the interior. He asks me about waxing it which I have really no time to do but with the way my day is going I need to make up for missing my first appointment so I take it. He has a gas pressure washer so I got to town on all the mud using a full bottle of my super slick suds. What do I find... swirl city. I’m tired, feeling sick and it’s so black it looks like it’s going to storm any minute. After seeing the swirls I told him I couldn’t do correction today I just didn’t have the time, since I was supposed to be at meeting at 3:30pm for wedding which is only 40 days away. He was ok and said just do what you can the cash will be on the table inside and off he went.
Today I wished more than ever I had learned to use my Makita.

In 4 hours I did the drivers side and hood with SSR2.5 x3 SSR1 x2 EX-P and Nattys Red.
That got 95% of the swirls out and left it looking great.

It was already 3:30pm by then and I just wanted to go home. So I left him a note saying I would be back tomorrow to finish the rest of the truck and left the extra $150 we agreed for the wax.

I should have just stayed in bed. Boy am I going to get it when Kristin gets home for missing that meeting. Maybe if I just give her the cash I got today she will go easy on me.

We all have those days man. I did a Chrysler 300 M the other day and NOTHING would go right. I felt like a noob all over again. The job should have taken about 6 hours and ended up taking 8.5 hours and just a real pain in the butt.
