I always liked this article. When I was younger, there was a genre of music called "emo".

At some point, all of the sudden, "emo" turned into really crappy punk music. I listen to bands like Sunny Day Real Estate, HUM, Weezer, and others. I have no idea how crappy bands Like Jimmy Eat World and My Chemical Romance STOLE the term "emo" from good bands.

jimmy eat world and my chemical romance can not be considered EMO, they are mainstream artists with songs on top 40 radio stations.
