Home kegerator anyone?

Hi beer lovers!

I'm looking into possibly setting up a home keg system, but looking for suggestions of what others may have done. I like the design of this model Frigidaire Products - PLKU1267D or ones like these ... Kegerator Summit One Tap Keg Refrigerator - Black - Single Tap

or Kegerator Draft Beer Refrigerator US Sankey for Domestic Beer by Haier

Any opinions on this type of setup? Any opinions on other options...I've only started looking into doing this, so I'm not quite the most educated when it comes to tapping a keg...but I'm getting there! Any ideas/help would be great! The idea of fresh draft beer is really appealing, but I never really thought it was very practical, easy, or possible...until now.

Regards,

Mike

Find one used. I had the opportunity to get one for 200 bucks! It was very nice, too. You could also find an old used fridge and buy the kit for around 150 bucks.

Sam's Club is the cheapest I've seen.
Sam's Club - Search Results

You're still looking at about $500 for one that can hold a keg.

Re: Home kegerator anyone?

The premade ones are pricey... we got an old fridge free on heavy pickup week and bought the kit at a discount... total cost around 120.00. It is a great setup - just requires a little tuning and tweaking here and there. 60 bucks for 200 beers is a great deal too, it keeps "good enough" for a month or more but we usually finished a keg in 2 weeks .

Re: Home kegerator anyone?

I had bought a Summit kegerator to fit under the nice tile bar my college roommate built for our last apartment. It was $600 and I sold it 2 years later for $450 on craigslist.

ahh...good times
