Great pics from last night's Rangers/Spankees game

The last shot was taken from under the concourse because it was the only place the wind wasn't blowing the rain into. A lot of people got herded down into the tunnels under the stadium. The whole field looked like a pond but after the rain slowed, it all drained away quickly but they still called the game.

Went back this afternoon and walking to the stadium, we saw this tree uprooted. Apparently, some areas in Tarrant county had 80-90 mph straight line winds and our power at home was knocked out for a good 5 hours. Fun.

Rangers lost (no suprise, no hitting again) but I had an awesome chile cheese dog.

Haha. Glad no one was around the tree when it happened to get hurt. Did anyone get hurt? Atleast you enjoyed the chille cheese dog right?

I don't think anyone got hurt but some areas had up to 100 mph straight line winds. I have a regular customer who is a little south of the Dallas area and when I went out to polish his Z06 on Thursday morning, there were a lot of trees and fences down and several houses in his subdivision had minor roof damage.

BTW, right after Thursday's game, a thunderstorm formed right over north Arlington and we got 3 inches of rain in less than an hour.

Yeah, I enjoyed the chili cheese dog. The Ballpark actually has decent if someone over-priced, food.

Scott: You guys have really been getting pounded, haven't you? (I've been following on CNN)

How has this affected business?

Glad you got to enjoy some parts .

More storms tomorrow (Sunday) and Monday, and a 30-40% chance through the following Sunday. It is killing me. I worked Sunday and half days on Thursday, Friday and today. I have an X3 scheduled for tomorrow and the owner contacted me this morning to make sure we were still on. I guess he decided not to cancel due to possible rain because he already cancelled the detail a month ago because he forgot to check with his wife if the X3 would be available.

Patrick-yes, we went the next day. Got screwed of out our seats for the rained out game because they rolled it into a single ticket double header. We had lower homerun porch (right field, full shade during the day) in the 2nd row. The idiot management of the Rangers gave seating priority to the Thursday ticket holders instead of the people who paid for parking the night before and spent 90 minutes in a stadium getting wet, hoping the rain would stop and the field would drain. We ended up in the upper homerun porch, 24 rows back, although the attendant let us sit down in the 1st row since no one was there. I was out the $20 difference in the cost of the tickets too and 3 days later am still pretty pissed off about the whole thing. Even worse, I went down between innings and no one was sitting where our original seats were.

You'd think a team that is 10-16 (what they were before game time) and is hitting .230 would do their fans better than that.

I would nearly guarantee if you wrote the Rangers PR and expressed your frustrations, they would comp you another game! Seriously Scott!

Maybe. I do know (and have detailed cars for) the director of player development who has already told me to let him know when I need tickets. Plus one of my regulars has the most listened to afternoon sports talk show (plus opinion column) and all I have to do is let him know I am thinking of going to a game and he can arrange free tickets too. Plus a few of my customers are season ticket holders and usually give me tickets to a few games a year. I normally don't pay to see them play so it chaps my behind to get screwed like this when it is my money involved. Believe me, when I was in line (for 30 minutes!) exchanging my tickets, I was not the only one upset. Plus, my older boy was moving back to Kentucky (he left on Friday) so this was his only chance to watch a game at the Ballpark this year. Otherwise I would have exchanged the tickets for another game. I pretty much had to take it up the old wahzoo on this one.

Unless I get freebies, I might not go to another game this year because of it.

Scott, I know how you feel about the weather right now. I haven't washed two of the cars in several weeks because of it. And it is supposed to keep going this week. Oh well, at least most our lake levels are getting back to where they need to be. Here is a pic of my back yard a week ago and the neighbors (one with the pool) when we got it in Fort Worth. We got about 11 inches in 6 hours. Gotta love Texas weather.
