The cool part is that you can fly basically anywhere you want.

I have been using Microsoft Flight Simulator myself for years but, I am in the process of setting up a Linux box to run FlightGear. They do have a version for Windows as well.
It may not be quite a polished as MFS just yet but, there are some very interesting aircraft including several Military Jets such as the Harrier, F16, Mig-15 and even Santa Claus and his sleigh FlightGear Flight Simulator | |
