are you just using office 2007 or Vista as well? if Vista, the Previous Versions tab (VSS service) might save you.

Man, I have O2k7 too, but I set all my saving as pre office 97-2003 format.
I hate the DOCx on the Word and so do other new format. Can you re-save as XLS format?
