What the heck kind of flower is this?



I bought it for her, she loves it, but we both can't figure out what the heck it is called!

Throughout much of the world the chrysanthemum is regarded as a symbol of death. It is the crest of the Japanese monarchy. During WW2 the Japanese Empire stamped a chrysanthemum logo on all their small arms weaponry. Mass kamikaze attacks known as Kikusui translates as "floating chrysanthemum."

As a history buff I know this stuff. When I saw chrysanthemum it popped into my head.
