Throughout much of the world the chrysanthemum is regarded as a symbol of death. It is the crest of the Japanese monarchy. During WW2 the Japanese Empire stamped a chrysanthemum logo on all their small arms weaponry. Mass kamikaze attacks known as
Kikusui translates as "floating chrysanthemum."
As a history buff I know this stuff. When I saw chrysanthemum it popped into my head.
