I actually just threw up in my mouth a little bit. That is one of the most awful things I have ever seen done to a car, and I watched Pimp My Ride for an entire season!

Is that actually chrome, or just chrome paint? I've seen similar chrome paints done in other colors like gold. Looked ugly.

yes, and I have seen one that was fully polished!
it looked a little better than that fake chrome

Doc explained in the first movie why he chose the Delorean. The stainless panels were requred to handle a side effect of time travel- intense cold.
