They gave me a delivery date and then called the day before to try and change it. The guy told me they were instock so I told the manager I wanted one of those rental trucks they use for the day and I installed them myself.` | |

Lay into those morons, take it to regional management, and take it higher if necessary. Give them hell. When something that ridiculous happens with a MAJOR retailer they need to be slapped around for it. That collections thing is just the final kick in the balls. FWIW, we bought our major appliances at Lowe's and couldn't have been happier with price, delivery, and all.

BTW, I am also a Lowe's fan.

I recently had to buy a new washer and dryer as well.....ending up buying a Whirlpool set from a local appliance store. To my surprise, they ended up having a better price, and had a few more rebates that HD or Lowes didn't even offer. Delivery was free without a rebate, and all the accessories were included. It was a great experience, and I will always give them my business in the future! For anyone in the Massachusetts area, I highly recommend Belchers Appliance in Framingham!

No ones perfect however he sent you a letter trying to make it right and STILL couldn't do it. Thats enough for me. NO HOME DEPOT for me. I really don't shop there anyway, but I'll be sure to pass it up and go to the next Lowe's.
Thanks for sharing, any updates though?

Home Depot is absolutely horrible. Nearly non-existent employees, messy stores, extremely poor organization (since when do AC air filters get stocked in the middle of a bunch of pipes?), and extremely rude employees. And no, I'm not just imagining things. Consistently I've been purposely ignored by employees when I had a question.. and when I did just finally put myself directly in their line of sight and try to nicely address them, they didn't even look at me and just sort of talked some answer... "oh yea... aisle 8 yea sure." My item wasn't in aisle 8, aisle 8 had absolutely nothing to do with the product I was looking for
Plus, the checkout people barely manage to make a slight acknowledgment of your presence. I find it really hard to believe HD really even WANTS anyone's business.
I now drive the additional 10 minutes to go to Lowe's, a decent store for decent people. I will never again go to Home Depot and try to make sure my family and friends don't suffer at HD either. I hate that place, what a waste of land.

Update. I have not been able to resolve the issue with certegy as home depot is dragging it's feet on verifing that i did actuall cancel my order, and never recieved the products. I still have not spoken with neil geohri. Every time some one tells me he is in, he is out. In short i see this as home depot's way of punishing the customer having the audacity to cancel an order. If you wonder why your quarterly has dropped 28%.. This a a big reason why. Pissing off guys like me who have nothing better to do than to post this on 22 internet forums and relate their expiences of shopping with home depot. There is an old addage in marketing, a happy customer will tell 2 people, and unhappy customer will tell 12. Well sirs I posted this on 22 forums with over 9000 views on just two forums. hundreds of replies, I told a whold lot more than 12... how un happy do you think i am....

Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: Seattle Posts: 1,602 | Re: My home depot appliance purchasing exp. So i recieved a call from john fountain assistant manager at HD issaquah on wednesday morning. He apparently was able to resolve homedepot's side of the paper issue with Certegy.
I asked for written confirmation that i did not infact owe the 3857 that they claimed. his was response was ask certegy. He believed it would be posted to my certegy control account by 5pm pst.
I called certegy at 7pm pst and found out it had not been posted. After a discussion with the person on the phone they found the paperwork and suposedly stopped all collection actions. At this point i asked for written confirmation that i never owed this amount of 3857. Certegy responded by saying they are not required nor will they send me such verification. I reworded my request and asked for written confirmation that all collection actions have ceased.
Certegy's response was that is not possible. I replied so i have to take your word on the fact collections have cease. The manager responded yes. I asked what is to stop you from not posting the info to my account even though you said you did. Waiting the perscribed 30days mandated by law (at this point on wedsday 16 days had passed already) And leaving me with this debt weather or not i truely owed it.
There response was silence. I responded doesn't certegy buy debt claims from homedepot for pennies on the dollar? You then recieve the lions share of any amount recovered? So if you simply wait the remaining days of the 30 days given to me by law, i will be legally responsible, and you are able to take full collective action.
their response was sir we would not do that. I replied I want written confirmation that i did not infact owe this amount of money, that this debt issue has been resolved with in this perscribed 30 days by law.
they hung up.
So I am contemplating what to do next.
Today i recieved a phone call from Homedepots' WE hear you email campaign. The gentleman had not read my email. So i read it to him, i then relayed homedepots response to the request for a letter stating i did not owe the debt and thissue had been resolved.
I then related my last phone call with certegy.
Why do i know that is exactly what certegy was planning to do? My wife's professional area of focus is fincancial services. She spent 7 years auditing insurance, debt collection, and credit card companies. This is and was common practice. They are required to issue you a letter of finality upon request.
Right now i am extremely upset about how even at the end of this POS process HD is ambilelent. The We hear you phone caller said, i don't know when i will get this finished for you but i will. I replied you have less then 10 days.
grrrrrrr. | |

It looks like you have a case for a class action lawsuit against HD and Certegy.

I suppose you can also call your Attorney General... or maybe not, since I'm not sure this qualifies as "fraud" or whatnot
Tell the BBB about all the companies involved as well
That's ridiculous that they won't give you written confirmation!
