Went out for lunch, came back with...
There was a reptile/exotic pet convention here in Dallas. Picked up an 18" male Amelanistic Corn Snake for $45. Already had a 1 gallon terrarium, just needed a thermometer and a heat pad. Named him after Pullo in HBO's Rome (Pullo is a bad *** warrior). Within minutes of being in his new home, he was already drinking.

He seems to like being held.

I have a 13ft Columbian Boa. I feed her lop rabbits, dead of course.
Thats great its drinking that soon.
You are gonna wanna upgrade the terrarium to a much bigger one soon.
My favorite part of owning reptiles is making their terarium just like what they would find in the wild. Hard to do with a 13ft boa enclosure, i turned a jewerly case into a terarium, its HUGE.

Very cool! I really like the colors.
I don't know anything about snakes but I think you may have to upgrade to a larger tank.
Here is a nice link that helps to describe their habitat. This way you can build him an appropriate home: Corn Snake - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Oh, I love the show Rome!

I do plan on upgrading the size of his home pretty quickly. As it is, I'm going to give him a day or two to adjust to his new surroundings and then get him a pinky mouse to munch on.
Spilchy-thanks for teh wiki link-bookmarked!

That's a pretty cool snake Scott! Didn't you also have a tarantula at one time?

Re: Went out for lunch, came back with...
Scott,
Once he gets comfortable in his new home, promise us you're not going to detail him. I don't want to see pics of him getting his ONR bath, no pics of him with his new Acrylic Jet coating or his Menzerna Full Molecular Jacket.
I got a feeling you're the consumate professional and will give the little fella a great home. Maybe teaching him how to buff with a MF would be ok.
That's one neat snake.

Re: Went out for lunch, came back with...
He eats fast! I bought a pinky mouse for him today. At first, he kind of ignored it until I put the mouse on him. Next thing I know, he was wrapped around him and squeezed until it stopped moving. He then opened up his mouth and started pulling the mouse inside. Maybe 30 seconds passed and all that was left was a bit of the tail. A minute or two later, the mouse was about halfway into his body.
Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics...
