if anything, the company could get in big trouble for illegal questions during interviews. many companies have been sued (and lost) for far less obvious questions during interiews.

Just because Barry Meguiar doesn't hire a non-Christian doesn't mean that he doesn't respect others (if this allegation is true at all). Being a private company, he has the right to hire or not hire anyone he chooses.

Please notice my post was not commenting on Barry because, as you said, we don't know whether allegations are true or not. However, my post was directed at your applauding what would be a religion based discrimination.

Also, using religion alignment as decision weighing factor in hiring and firing is nothing but discrimation and is quite opposite of respect because it means one cosiders other person having lesser value just because of them being of different religion.

I have a feeling you would be less inclined to applaud if you didn't happen to be Christian. In the meantime I have Christian roots and I find any such behavior utterly disgusting and hypocritical. Funny how we were the ones that complained about lack of tolerance when Romans were ruling, and now that we are a majority we behave just like Romans did. Some things change, human nature never does. Is this what they say Jesus gave his life for? If yes I'm sure he would be turning in his grave if he hasn't risen.

History, both prior, during, and after Germany in WWII, teaches us truth is quite the opposite, that it is intolerance, racism, discrimination, etc, that brings destruction and death to people and countries.

Debates about religion and political correctness rarely do.

I'm definitely with ZoranC on this one though. Whether this whole thing with Meguiar's is true or not, I do not support or tolerate discrimination of any type. If someone wants to run their company based on traditional Judeo-Christian moral values fine . . . but when you start forcing people to be religious that's a different story.

I'm very happy that I live in a socially liberal state where this type of behaviour would not be tolerated.
