I am so glad you found them...my world would be so empty with out my 2 dogs....my dogs go beyond being pets..they are family members ..like kids...as it seems your dogs are....

I would get them chipped and also a tag..but on the tag never put the dogs name..just your name.. address and phone...

Always have a picture of your dog also to ID in cases like this..incase some tries to say it is there dog...take it with a family member....

Again glad the kids are Home

Glad you found them! But I have to ask, $1500 reward? Are people really that rotten that they wouldn't return someone else's dogs for $50? As someone who had a dog that liked to "escape" and I got many phone calls to retreive him, I would never accept any reward for returning someone else's dog. It's not like it's a ring or something that you can hock.

Yeah that sounds really steep... and they accepted the money?? I'm like you Mike... I wouldn't take a dime rather just have a great feeling the owner has their kids back.

Really glad to hear you got your dogs back,me and Mrs Concours would be devastated if we lost our Westie,I would 'dog proof' your back garden so they couldnt get out,at least sort the door out with some kind of self locking rim latch,I would also put REWARD on the tag,not the dogs name as already suggested.

yes, unfortunately around my neighborhood. when my sister talked to them over the phone, they were hesitant to say where they lived and really only wanted to meet where we live. from what they said, the girl was crying the whole night and so they left both the dogs outside overnight where it was very cold

(these are housedogs), and when we got them back, they seemed dazed and acted if they didn't recognize my sister (they were traumitized). if it wasn't for the reward, they would of kept them guaranteed (they also acted like it, with no intention to give them back as they knew they were expensive dogs) and after my sister wrote them the check, off to the bank they went to immediately cash it (you could see the $$ in their eyes).... i'm just glad we got them back, that's the most important thing bottomline...

I'm glad you got them back, but pretty disappointed that it took $1500. What ever happened to the golden rule? I've placed ads in a newspaper before trying to locate the owner of a dog and wouldn't consider accepting a dime for the expense of food, advertising, etc.. The joy of seeing a pet and their owner reunited should be payment enough. OK, rant over.

unfortunately, the $1500 is what it took to get them back (dropped a flyer at a veterinary, where i saw some flyers that people were offering a $1000 reward for one dog, and we got two back considering they cost about that much a piece). if the reward would of been $50, $100, etc... they would of just kept them (probably would of laughed it up) and who knows, try to sell them for more (they knew they weren't cheap).
