... Have you noticed something? All teenage drivers have to butt in with those kind of posts. "oh im 17 and i never drive recklessly and i never will!" "oh when i get a car i will drive in a good manner!" "not every teenager is like this!".... wow.

I'm not sure why people felt the need to defend their age... I'm 19 and I didn't think once of saying "I'm 19 and don't drive like that." It doesn't matter what age you are, there are always crappy drivers the same age as you.

From the OCRegister article: "Catsouras was pronounced dead at the scene from head trauma."

You think?

Man, those pics are bad. Sad story.

This is all over the automotive forums. I found the following 2 posts at the g35driver forum, and both appear to be legitimate. The first is from a police officer, and the second is from a friend of the girl who was killed:

Ah yes...my sergeant was the investigator for this accident. Really unfortunate to hear. I live in the same community as the girl. Real upscale area with homes in excess of a million. It's common to see 18 yo's driving BMW, porsche, benz, etc..

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

to correct some assumptions about this accident: it was not her car, it was her dad's...she took it after getting into a fight with her parents and drove away as fast as she could...i know that is still no excuse for speeding - but THIS IS A LIFE that was ended in the blink of an eye. i knew her, and trust me there was a lot more going on in her short life than you will ever want to know... R.I.P. Nikki Mayo-Catsouras ...

Someone on another board found her sister's myspace page (which I am not linking) and a message on the front page said:

"Keep Your Head Up- RIP Nikki<33 i love you"

Poor choice of words...

By your name, you've got a 335i, and you're gonna tell me you've never driven above 60? Thats bullshizzle, dude, and you know it. Maybe if your mom was always in the car...If you've never driven above 60, why not get a 325i?

Absolutely horrific crash scene, heart goes out to the family, especially considering the story AND PICS of their daughters crash is all over the internet. So not only is their daughter dead, but they have a ton of armchair drivers criticizing the situation and the dead girl.

I did some stupid driving when I was younger, both in cars and on motorcycles. I was lucky that nothing ever happened.
I feel for her family and friends.

that's weird... the links were all removed

I wonder why they were suddenly removed weeks after the start of this thread?

Indeed, however they were here for many weeks without problems, and many of us made it clear they were graphic. It's just strange they were removed now... it's just that it seems random to me (IMHO).
