Re: I hate THIEVES!!!!!!!! v. Broken Into

Unfortunately the apartments I live in just had this happen. The ironic thing is this is a gated community and the gate has been broken since we moved in in Feb. Well the day they finally had all the kinks out and it was working properly 5-8 cars were broken into that same night. Thanks god my mustang and the wife’s fusion were spared. Unfortunately now I'm paranoid at night and waking up to any little noise.

Re: I hate THIEVES!!!!!!!! v. Broken Into

My car was broken into twice in college. My brother's car was stolen for the stereo and then abandoned five miles away. Luckily, they didn't screw that one up too bad. It seems like about every two months, one of the cars in our apartment complex was broken into. My best friend had the wheels stolen off his car in his own driveway. Some people just have no respect for the hard work it takes in order to have nice things. The only car I have now that has an aftermarket stereo is 16 years old and the stereo is like 5 years old, so it's not really worth touching. I am very happy about the fact that we now have all three cars in the garage at night. I sleep a little easier. I am very sorry about your loss. Given the amount of what was taken, you may be able to file a claim with your insurance and at least only be out the deductible.

Re: I hate THIEVES!!!!!!!! v. Broken Into

My wife has a Tahoe LT and hers was hit in a similar manor a few days ago. Seems to be a popular target right now. They busted out her driver door window and crawled in and out through it to bypass the GM security.

Sorry to hear about this. Thieves are at the top of my sh*t list, pardon my language.

That's a real shame. I hate car thieves. This is why I have a CompuStar 2WSS-AS 2-way alarm/remote starter. I love this alarm. Never false alarms. It will page my remote if somebody is messing with my truck.

Viper 791xv Responder Alarm with Battery Backup here. Alarm sounded full blast but being in parking garage and in my dorm the signal couldnt get through to my pager. If a thief wants your stuff he will get it, my car is a perfect example.

Re: I hate THIEVES!!!!!!!! v. Broken Into

Aye, the guy I work with bought a new Hemi Ram last year and spent $2000 on the alarm system. It was stolen right out of his driveway the 2nd day he owned it, the alarm having been jammed. He got it back and 2 days later it was stolen again (he was living in Vegas then). For every new method of theft-deterrant introduced, there are 4 ways around it figured out.

Thieves know that alarms going off are so common these days that most people ignore them in parking lots. Even if you have a 2-way pager, by time you get to the car the guys will have gotten what they wanted and moved on to someone else's car.
