how do you link a thread with a different title?

i've noticed many on here will link a thread with different title, how do you do it?

You mean as in a general link that simply has different text?

To do that, do this:

Code:
[ url=http://example.com]name you want goes here[/ url]
Delete the extra spaces before "url" .. for some reason, the "code" function here does NOT do its function!

So this is the result:
name you want goes here
