However, if I'm in a public area, such as on campus, then I log out when I'm done.
And no, there's no problem with just closing the window if you're using your private computer

But then again I only check the forums when I am at home (personal) or at work (password protected) so no one can really get on it after me. *shrugs*

I [sadly] check Autopia every 10 minutes I'm on my computer, I've got the bookmark on my toolbar along with my car forum I post at and they're pretty much my first to tabs I open up in Firefox.
Detailing has consumed my soul...and my wallet.

Join Date: Jun 2006 Posts: 491 | I use Firefox and have the same problem. Here's a fix for you. When you go to www.autopia.org and it shows you not logged in.....click the Home button at the top and it will show you logged in. This is assuming that you had the "remember me" check box clicked last time. Also I find that if I type autopia.org instead of www.autopia.org (drop the www.) Then it remembers me. Give that a shot and hope it helps.
Edit: Oh, I also stay logged in unless I'm at some random computer. My work computer is exclusivly used by me and the house comp, is just the wife and I.

You have to always go directly to the main forum page. It'll work then.
Just for reference, this is the page bookmarked in my FF 2.0: http://autopia.org/forum/index.php?
