NYC, a airplane crashed into a 50-story building.
Check this out.
http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/10/11/plane.crash/index.html
This building isnt too far from my office and isnt to far from Ground Zero.
Btw, no terror related. Is just a freak accident.
edit. Im on 63rd n Lex Ave

It's amazing how the whole entire building didn't collapse in sync, into it's own footprint, at the speed of a falling object, like the similarily tall 47-story WTC building 7. Oh wait, WTC7 had fires on 2 floors, i get it now.

Aw man...I read about the crash, and then someone said it was a Yankees pitcher and I thought they were just kidding. I didn't know it was actually Lidle who'd done it...I hope it didn't have anything to do with the losing the series (besides the fact that he wouldn't have been on the plane if they were still in the running).
I hope he's having fun playing in that big baseball field in the sky.

He was flying with an instructor. It is written into every Yankee player's contract that if they fly a plane they have to be with an instructor ever since 1979 when Thurman Munson died in a similar plane crash.
Apparantly, it is believed that the plane ran out of gas due to the lack of a fuel fire that would have spilled down from the apartment building. Possibly the fuel gauge could have been broken or there was a fuel leak.
I *HIGHLY* doubt, that he (a mediocre pitcher) would have crashed the plane because the Yankees lost a playoff series. Watch, some moron will create a "Loose Change" type conspiracy crap video! If anything, someone could make a spoof on it.

Man, its sad. This was the 2nd Yankee team mate that got killed in a plane accident.
I dont know what the avg ages peoples in this forums. Remember Thurman Munson #15? He was killed in a plane crash too on Aug. 2, 1979, but this was a jet(twin engine). Sad
