I dislike WallyWorld for many reasons, this being one of them. I shop there as little as possible.

If people would realize what WMT is doing and stop shopping there (boycott), maybe the company would lose its egotistical, corporate bully mindframe.

I hear that man! Being a small business owner I hate them but find myself looking in there now and then. I think I shopped there once with a gift card though. I need to stop going in there period.

WW is eliminating competition and an American dream for our kids - owning a small business.

I'm no fan of WM over mom-and-pop shops either; hopefully Apple will catch the wave at the right time, and send a shockwave to WalMart instead of the other way around.

My wife told me just today that she had read in a local paper where WalMart would be offering over 300 of the most popular generic prescriptions for a flat fee of $4. Now if someone were going to fill their generic prescriptions at WalMart wouldn't they pick their name brand prescriptions up there also. Something like this would put a real hurt on the little local drug stores.

Prescription drug prices put a real financial strain on many American families particularly senior citizens. Here comes Wally World with a great big "S" on their chest to a market that really needs help and once again small business suffers. It's a real death spiral we're in with this corporation.

I read an article not too long ago (could have been discussed here) that discussed how Snapper the lawn mower company had flatly turned down WalMart as a reseller. A decision that would have been worth millions to the company. Snapper's president was under serious scrutiny for the decision but his whole point was that someone needed to say no to WalMart. I applaud businesses who are capable of withstanding this kind of pressure and admire a president with enough fore sight to put off today's gain for America's future economy. As far as I'm concerned more people should be cutting their lawn with a Snapper lawn mower. I was trying to find the link but couldn't, here's another one that has some interesting numbers:

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontl.../walmart/view/

I found the Snapper article, it's a good read:

Walmart is trying this program in a test market (Tampa Bay area, FL) at 65 locations. I am more upset about having bought a crapload of CVS stock the day before. Oh well, it is back a little today...

I stopped shopping there a while back and just wont go back. I don't like the way they do business and speak that with the lack of my dollars being spent there. Going after Apple is taken personal by me!

to each his own. the more they fight it out the more we as consumers win.

THe movie industry is not going to give up on drm, online movie sales. so wal-mart Has little leway. They can however cut their prices on dvd compared to tother retailers forcing the issue on retailers as a whole. This will drive down costs of online drm'd content.

either way we win

A few weeks ago I watched the movie: walmart - the high price of low cost. I will never shop at WM ever again.

PS: I have no issues with the big sharks eating up the little ones. It is capitalism after all.

My problem is how they treat the employees. Worse than bad. Encouraging them to collect unemployment, since one can't live off of what most sales clerks make. Even though each sibling has over 18 BILLION dollars.. HOW MONEY HUNGRY CAN ONE BE?

The CEO made 27 Million last year. F! WM

Geez, I guess I don't see the issue with selling generic prescriptions for $4. Drug costs are a burden especially for people on fixed incomes (read: My Parents).

I don't shop at Walmart, just don't like the store. However, I guess I just don't see this as a bad thing. How is saving elderly consumers money a bad thing?
