I have a friend who experienced something that I think needs to be shared
with everybody I know. The gas station there across the street from american
gold mine--I think it is called Finish Line needs to be boycotted. We go
there alot and after I heard this I will NEVER go there again. My friend was
pumping gas when a man dressed in military clothes pulled up to pump gas.
The owner of the store(which is an arab looking man) came running outside
and told the man that in this country we can refuse service to anyone and he
refused service to him. He said something else to the fact that he was the
reason his country was in shambles because of our ignorance being over
there. My opinion is the man needs to go back over to his country, if it is
so great why isnt he there?? Anyway I think all of us feel the same, and
should have total support for our men and women fighting for our country and
I just wanted to give this man the respect he deserves and thought this
should be passed along. Thanks

Seriously, it amazes me how many gas stations are run by foreigners, even here. I often wonder how much of our own money goes back to their "Great" homeland, probably to support hostility against us.

First, I'd sue that guy and try to get him shut down. Second, if he remained open, I'd never use him, EVER, and I'd spread the word all across the town until he is forced outta business. I agree, if he thinks his county is all that, he can go right back there and pump gas!

I doubt that really happened....... it sounds like a variation of other Urban Legends that have been floating around with the same theme:

Make no mistake, as a veteran I would be livid if something like this happened, but we have to be careful about what we circulate. If this is indeed false, as I suspect it is, then by passing this information on we could be harming an innocent business while fueling hate towards all "Arab looking" men.

We really need to make an attempt to verify things like this before we forward them on or post them in a public forum. Just my 2 cents....

I also love how many people, at least here in Michigan, complain that they come over here for 7 years and run their businesses tax free and then sell to their relatives who run it tax free for 7 years. That is probably the most believed thing around here that is not true. Ask someone at the IRS. They will tell you "If they are doing business over here they are paying taxes just like everyone else."

My guess is too stir up negative feelings towards certain cultures/races based on rumor. Even if it is factual...no need for it here.

On a side note -I posted this thread in my online class discussion board (Diversity in Society) for classmates to take a look and see how negative feelings are passed on...thus leading to more hate/discrimination in our society.

this was not left to leave hard fealings/misstrust, or anything of the sort. i did not pass on. sorry for anyone hurt. just thought it was an interesting junk e-mail i recieved, and as you can read it was a he said she said sorta deal. personaly i dint see it happening anywhere, just thought id see what everyone would say about it.
