Montreal is one the safest and nicest city in North America and once in a while s**t like this happens !
Its just so sad to see teens killed and hurt and their lives taken away just after a new school year just started. A 18 year old girl was killed and 3 students are in critical condition with gun wounds to the head and 19 other injured.
I'am a graduate of this institution - class of '86, so it now hurts even more !

The people who are saying he was an OK guy must be neck-deep in denial and his parents sure botched up raising him.
pwrstrk02- I agree with you (probably not the most popular position on this stuff, huh?) about the bullying. I too think that society's acceptance of bullying/etc. has a lot to do with much of the "so surprising" violence that erupts "out of nowhere". Don't torture these kids, don't rob them of hope and aspiration, and they won't go on their rampages.
This one doesn't appear to be that sort of thing...this guy was a 25-year-old who spent his time on "internet role-playing games" and other such loser-magnet stuff like the aforementioned "vampire"-centric boards.

Seriously, your defending this nutjob because some people picked on him? You said that YOU don't feel sorry for the dead (probably who where innocent, unless your saying that the ENTIRE school bullied this kid). There is no excuse for taking another persons life unless your life is being threatened or your families life is being threatened.

Actually he never attended this college which is smack in the middle of downtown(to give you a proximity, it is located half a block from the old Montreal forum where the legendary Montreal Canadians hockey team used to play !) he went to a high school in one of the suburbs where he lives like 25km from downtown.
What really makes me angry is that Dawson College is known for its liberalism and friendliness. I can say with 10,000 students that attend it at any one time I had never had a bad personal encounter with any of them during my three years there. You can see the students and faculty are a big family, everyone is sadden by this. Just to give you the scope of this, the entire cellphone grid for the island of Montreal was overloaded for 3 hours as the student started phoning their families to tell them they were alright.
An account by the boyfriend of the the girl who was killed said he saw him shoot his girlfriend, as she fell on the floor, he went over to her and fired eight more shots into her and then moved on to shoot another target. To add insult to injury, the parents of the girl were told by police that their daughter was at the hospital and being operated on, so they went there and waited for hours, only to find out 9 hours later that she was not at the hospital and was pronounce dead at the scene. They only removed her body at 6:00am the following morning after police concluded their investigation.

Here is the minute by minute account of that day(started rampage at 12:43, first post 10 minutes later) via forum posting of all things, There are even members whose parents know the killer's parents and members of friends who were injured. The internet really makes the world smaller ! http://forums.montrealracing.com/sho...d.php?t=380486
