The video looks a little to rehearsed to me. I am willing to bet it was completely staged...

Thanks for the tip - but that was the point. I was mocking the guys ignorance. You didn't even read it right anyway if you though I was saying "stupid jap". I was saying "stupid japanese car buying Canadian", but in the way that the whacky guy who tried to run Danase off the road probably would have said it.

Haha, I see you gave me negative karma for that. Now there's some irony, you can't even do fake quotes anymore without someone getting offended on the internet. It's almost as if I've moved back to San Francisco. Whoops, didn't mean to offend any San Franciscans. Try not to negative rep me!

Seriously, what's happening to Autopia?

Maybe, maybe not; I dunno

If it was staged it was pretty good acting; if it was real it was pretty good fast thinking.

I had a similar experience in my MR2. This dirtbag in a Ford Exploder was all over my a$$ for a while. At a red light he pulled along side and started spewing this crap about buying Japanese cars. Light changed mid-sentence and I took off, leaving him in the dust so to speak. I hit the freeway and accelerated to 75 quickly. A couple minutes later I saw him closing on me very rapidly. I decided to exit the freeway and I hit the next exit at 75. It was a tight 270° 35mph exit. Last I saw he was sliding the side of his SUV along the concrete guardrail shooting sparks everywhere.

Talking

Ten years ago, my wife my son and I had been on vacation at our timeshare in Williamsburg, VA. One night, as we were leaving the cinema, we were being chased by a couple of jerks in a pickup truck. I guess they noticed my Massachusetts plates and decided to screw with the "Yankees".

They were pulling the same shenanigans, speeding up right to our tailgate of our Explorer then dropping back, flashing the lights, honking the horn, etc.

My wife got on her cell and called the James City County PD. She told them the road we were on and where we were headed. The police dispatcher told us to just drive back to normally and head back to the resort.

The turkeys in the truck got a rude awakening when they were pulled over by two James City County police cruisers just as we pulled into the secuirty gate of the timeshare. We watched as they were given field sobriety tests ( which they failed miserably) and had the last laugh as they were arrested, handcuffed and placed into the cruisers.

I just don't get people these days, they lose it over the most mundane $%$*. A few days ago, some tool in an older Cavalier wagon was just crawling in the left lane, so I moved to the middle lane and passed him. Didn't look at the guy, didn't flip him off, nothing, I just passed him. A minute or two later, the tool that was going 50 in the left lane was now right on my bumper (I was going around 70) and flipping me off. Too bad for him my brakes are much better than his and so is my acceleration. Nailed the brakes, then as he tried to change lanes and go around me, I punched it and kept him behind. I guess at that point he realized there were two of us in the car and he took the next exit. Still can't figure out what that a$$hole's problem was. If you don't want people to pass you, don't go 50 in the left lane of a 3 lane freeway. :rolleyes.

Warning, general rant...

I always drive in a way that no one has to slow down for me or has to make a quick lane change to avoid me. I always signal, I don't dart in and out of traffic, etc. Yet it seems like practically everyone else out on the road is completely unaware they share the road with other drivers. I don't get it. No more defensive driving, no more common courtesy, etc. Everyone is out for themselves. :

...and don't get me started on all the illegals on the road. Y'all up north have no idea what we put up with out here. Nothing like getting stuck behind some illegal afraid to go faster than 20 under the limit because they don't have current (or have forged) registration and no insurance. Plus a lot of them have their beer in a paper bag and are drinking them on the way to the job site. Not to mention their 6 kids, half of them in diapers standing up in the rear seat.
