Anyone here from Phoenix?

Man, do I feel bad for you.

I thought we were getting killed with mid-90s for a couple days, but jeez. That is rediculous. How do you do it? How do you detail?

Last week here, our temps were solidly above 100 every day....mostly they topped out at 102-104, with the heat index near 115. This week is still hot, just not as bad.

Gotta love summertime!

Heh, heh, I used to live out there in Mesa. That's typical weather for this time of year. There were summers I was there I'd have been glad to see the high temp be ONLY 100 this time of year. I remember about 15 yrs ago in late June when it hit 122 and they closed Sky Harbor Airport due to heat. They didn't have air density tables above 120 and they weren't confident planes wouldn't start sinking into the asphalt taxiways. That day I was working as a test driver testing prototype ACs for Ford (R-134a was just coming out) and they had so many failures they sent us home early, then that night the engineers from Michigan gave up and left town early.

My favorite town in the world.

Yes, I love heat. Dry heat that is.

When our family went to Phoenix to visit some family friends it just happen to be the hottest day that year....116F. Just walking from the driveway to the inside the house was quite an experience .

I'd take Phoenix 108* dry heat rather than Michigan's 100 degree weather with over 60% humidity. Today our heat index was 103* in the shade, so add 10* for sun...blistering 113* that's about how burnt I am from the beach

I'm just glad that we haven't had any real hurricanes give us trouble yet like last year. Hopefully this hot weather makes our politicians and people in general think about global warming and the effects we are seeing *now* and what it will be like in the future.
