The worst sound in the world

Imagine this -- you've just spent 8+ hours detailing your car. Wash, clay and several hours on swirl removal. You're a happy camper and decide against your better judgement to take that shiny, glossy bad boy out on the road. You hop on a highspeed roadway knowing full well that others will have to lower their visors to avoid the glare off of your car and await the admiring stares of others as they pass you. Suddenly, you are stuck behind an open flatbed truck whoose unknown load is loosley covered by a tarp flapping in the wind. You can't move to the left or right because of traffic. Then you hear it -- specks of debris flying out of that truck travelling at 60+ mph hitting your car like little micro meterorites. From the depths of your mind you recount an old college physics course and try to compute the velocity of this flying debris as it strikes your hood and roof. You realize the answer to the question is meaningless (hell, you couldn't answer that question even when you took the course) but the result is all to real. Marring and scratching as these metorites hit you with a sound much like chalk screeching over a blackboard. Expletiives are abounding. Alas, you get from behind that truck, but its too late. The damage has been done. Your companion in the right seat (a.k.a. your wife, gf or significant other) says "It's just a car" which at the least only worsense the situation. The day is ruined. The only thing you have to look forward to is starting all over. You think to yourself, next time I'll just stay home.

Funny (but not real funny) story, especially the "It's just a car".

Super has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Try having some one that is pissed off at the world and ramming you in the back and the side totaling your car. Then chasing him for miles and after it’s all over he does not have insurance you call your insurance co. to find out that your uninsured motorist coverage just covers medical.

Try having a bear trying to rip your car door off trying to get to the food inside, you like your car so much you run at the bear trying to make him stop ripping your door off with his claws but once you get there the bear weights 800 pounds and you go “now what”? but luckily the bear turns and runs off back in to the woods.

Impossible most of the time. It happens so often to me and the debris that blows from the trucks is just sick. So many trucks here in the States with seemingly no policing. The police are much more interested in giving speeding tickets to the ordinary car/suv/pick up driver than monitoring unsafe truck drivers. And the poor motorcycle riders... Imagine a tractor trailor running up the back of a bike at 70+MPH. It a daily occurence to have a truck spew debris , try to run up a cars bumper or do something dangerous and/or rude. It has become most unpleasant to drive unless you can find a non-truck route. 90%+ of the motor vehicle accidents on the highway in my local area involve the larger trucks.
Sorry for the rant but I do feel your pain froll. At the very least you know that we know what you are going through.

Heh, a good 30-06 would have solved both of those problems .
