Well, my lawyer just gave me a ring with some not-so-good news.
They told him I could defer the ticket, but the fine is $263

Especially if you have some points already, our state makes you pay a yearly fine on top of ticket costs  dont ask me how I know | |

Radar detectors aren't much good when they hit you with instant-on laser (as in my case).
I'm very glad it's deferred. I was just *hoping* for a smaller fine.

I drive a lot slower now than I used to, but I sped all over Lubbock and got one ticket about 2 months before I graduated. My old roomate who still lives out there, got a ticket at one point for going 3 miles over the speed limit. As bad as Lubbock was, the drive between Lubbock and Amarillo was far worse as far as police coverage goes.
