I scratched my head over that one, too. From the way they worded it, it sounds like that must have been the name of the plane.

The plane was indeed called "Carnauba". The Johnson family built an exact replica of that plane and flew it on the same 7,500 mile route to Brazil in 1998. Here is a link with pictures that is quite interesting. The plane is gorgeous.
