Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: West Michigan Posts: 2,787 | Bandage/Guaze Help *Fast please :( Hey everyone, My girlfriend recently had to have some surgery on her foot and the nurse who bandaged her up put on a guaze that apparently sticks to the wound...Shes tried soaking it in hot water and it still wont budge. She wants to try to take it off before tomorrow where the nurse will probably just rip it off...Any tips as to how to get this gauze pad to fall off...Thanks for the help guys! | |

Join Date: May 2006 Posts: 401 | try regular table salt. that's all saline solition is. 0.9% NaCl about a gram in a liter of solution, or for you non metric types, a 2 teaspoons in a quart. Epsom salt is Magnesium sulfate, the only thing the two have in common is the word salt.
If not, then 1/2 stregnth hydrogen peroxide, which shouldn't really burn much if at all. | |

Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: hartford ct Posts: 1,425 | saline is something you can pick up at a local drug store..I worked at a would care center dealing with all kinds of nasty bad smelling ozzing wounds.. soaking it with saline is the best way. they normally come in a spray bottle and you just soak the bandage and it will come off.
