We love it, the suction is great, ease of use is great, but I cannot speak of durability as we have only had it a few months. We have had several higher price vacuums in the past by Hoover, Eurkea, etc--the Dyson blows them away IMO. We have three dogs, all of them shed, the suction is more than enough to keep this under control--we vacuum every other day.

You pull the handle in the opposite direction as you are used to with a normal vacuum in order to change directions. It takes all of about 20 minutes to get used to it. It pulls itself very nicely.

PS - that Z vacuum, go to a store and TRY to pick it up, it weighs double what the Dyson does. Feels like it's made of concrete.

Looks like Hoover has embraced the "boutique" (Dyson?) marketing model...the more it costs the more desirable? Years ago when Nautilus started making home exercise equipment, I remember having a phone conversation with someone that was selling it. They were hugely expensive, and then he told me the prices were going up soon, so I asked how they expected to sell any at an even higher price, and he told me they were raising the price because they thought it would sell better that way
